Mally first came to yoga through dance and improvisational movement. While studying dance at The George Washington University, Mally was introduced to yoga and meditation and found it to be a natural addition to her daily practice. Years later, in 2012, Mally completed her 200hr yoga teacher training at The Kripalu School of Yoga, and fell in love with teaching and the practice of meditation in motion. She has been teaching yoga and mindfulness full-time since 2013. exploring both the physical and spiritual aspects of yoga. She completed a 500hr teacher training in Indonesia, studying under Jovinna Chan & Grace Jull. She is also certified instructor of Divine Sleep® Yoga Nidra, a meditation practice that supports rejuvenating rest and deep relaxation.
In 2013, Mally founded MALLY SMITH YOGA, a company dedicated to integrating wellness into the office, classroom, studio and home. By crafting each session with the needs of the individual or organization at the forefront, Mally helps her clients to build a framework of wellness into their daily lives, using various techniques like yoga, authentic movement, meditation, self-reflection, conscious communication and play.
Mally’s studio yoga classes range from gentle to vigorous, with a strong emphasis on listening to your body. Always leaving room for personal modification and independent exploration, Mally creates a safe space for all of her students, allowing for deep physical, mental and spiritual inquiry.
